The nights get longer, the air gets crisper, and that big, beautiful Harvest Moon hangs in the sky like a giant dog biscuit. It always makes me look up at the stars and think about the big mysteries of the cosmos, and the unique, cosmic spirit of every pup in my pack. So, let's get a little mystical, shall we?

The Big Biscuit in the Sky (What is the Harvest Moon?)
You've probably noticed it already—that huge, bright, and often orange-tinted full moon that hangs in the autumn sky. That, my friends, is the Harvest Moon! It's not a special type of moon, but a special time. The Harvest Moon is the name given to the full moon that happens closest to the Autumn Equinox (the official start of fall).
For centuries, before all those bright city lights, farmers depended on the moon's light to help them harvest their crops late into the evening. The Harvest Moon was a particularly helpful friend because it rises very soon after sunset for several nights in a row, giving them extra hours of beautiful, silvery light to work by.
For me, it just means the backyard is extra well-lit for my final "perimeter check" of the night. It's amazing what you can see out there (mostly squirrels planning their winter nut heists).
My humans say you're supposed to wish upon a star. I figured I'd just grab one myself! (It was delicious).

That big moon gets me thinking... if the stars and planets can affect the tides, they must have some say in our personalities, right? My humans are always talking about their zodiac signs, so I did some research (aka, I took a nap and dreamed about it), and I'm pretty sure we dogs have our own cosmic personalities, too!
Every pup is a unique star in their human's universe. Finding their sign is a fun way to celebrate the special quirks and qualities that make them who they are. Since we're right in the middle of Libra season, let's take a closer look at the pups born under this charming sign!
